One Family's Journey Around the World
Mar 09, 2010cindymaxwell rated this title 5 out of 5 stars
When the Higham family's one year "world the round", trip was over, I was sad too because that was the end of the book. Yes, I thought the Highams were crazy. Around the world in one year with TWO kids under the age of 12? Camping? Staying at hostels? Feeding piranha's to alligators? Yikes! The book was a real roller coaster filled with funny moments, poignant episodes and thought-provoking descriptions of some of the most horrific sites on the planet. Who thought a rocket scientist could write so well? I loved this book. When I put it down I thought, gee, maybe even I could take a trip around the world. I'd skip the Inca Trail though. Oh yes I was sad when I finished the book. But wait! There was more! I could go on Google Earth and explore dozens of postings and photos about the trip that were referenced throughout the book. Awesome!
