I love Simms Taback! He stays true to the traditional song in which there is talk of her dying. The books is perhaps not for the squeamish, fearful, or gentler folks among us, but Taback handles it artfully and humorously with added rhyming text throughout that questions the woman's choices and with a clear moral at the end. Of course, the moral of the story is: Don't eat a horse!
