bad movie!. it was like watching a war movie than a marvel movie. i agree with someone who wrote ,were was the hype?.
So this is what all the fuss was about? I must say, I expected a lot more. Like with "Get Out" I was left rather disappointed. Besides the obvious CGI, eyeroll-worthy dialogue ("It will be...terrible!" -cue shock drum) the worst part about it was the "lipstick" feminism. Seeing a female who looks like she weighs 90 lbs soaking wet grapple and tussle with males 20 or more sizes larger than her was laughable. It lead me to wonder how many miles of wires they used in order to get all the wirework in proper place. I could barely suspend disbelief long enough to get through the whole thing without chuckling out loud.
Now don't get me wrong...I didn't think it was terrible, just terribly mediocre. The story itself was entertaining (even if it did remind me of a gender flip of "Captain America: The First Avenger" with WW1 Germans instead of WW2 Germans) and Gadot's performance as WW was passable, it's just that the drawbacks were too apparent for me to fully enjoy this film and the feminism itself was so over the top as to defy all credibility. Some lesser informed people would believe that this film is anti-feminist but that belief is nonsense. It's simply a form of feminism that is not militant and misandrist as the typical sort...hence me referring to it "lipstick" feminism aka a mild type of feminism that promotes the "Mary Sue" trope through an attractive female lead. WW is basic feminist eye candy...don't be fooled.
I give it 2 1/2 stars for being entertaining enough for an evening, but given the story's feminist schlock (itself inspired by the lunatic feminism of WW's creator) I gave it that much for being more comedy than action film. The farce was strong with this film, bar none and only dopey females and low T males will love it.
the movie is great .........................but..........................the ending is so wrong he shouldn't have died she should have hoped in her inviable jet instead ))< )
I LOVE this film! Diana Prince is truly a heroine. Splendid story, stellar acting.
I know DC has been struggling a bit in their past few movies, but 'Wonder Woman' is a real hit, success in its best form.
Great female director!!! Loved this female hero. A woman with courage and a heart to help the people outside of her hidden homeland. She made a brave choice to leave her family to utilize her gift to save mankind. Great story and action. Loved it!!!
A female who has done little to obtain her natural beauty is being paid a lot of money to perform half dressed in a mediocre film... All the hype was right! This film has really shattered stereotypes and has made the women of the world more liberated and equal. I just hope women in Somalia, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and all over the world have been told about this film!
Nice to hear Blackfoot, and from Kani in Canada. Too bad we didn't hear more, someday a whole movie will be in a North American language
Bought the movie last week and finally got the chance to sit down and watch it a few days ago. All I can say is that I now regret that I didn't see this one when it was on the big screen. It is very well done, very inspiring through and through. I'm a Marvel girl, But DC just definitely got a new fan.
Very disappointing. I thought it was hailed as lifting up female heroism and leadership, but I'm not sure it does that, and the script is Hollywood at its most mediocre. Gadot performs well with a poorly written movie, but the rest of the cast is just as mediocre as the story line.
Inspiring to see a female leader in this space. Some humorous moments as she navigates Western society and gender roles. The violence is mostly cartoonish although the war scenes resonate.
