Poirot was in fine form and I was pleasantly surprised at how involved I became in trying to follow his thought process which made using 'the little grey cells' a pleasure. The locale was lovely in the novel and made for amusing and poignant dialogue at times. Most of the characters are interesting and well written with only a couple dips at times. The plot is very interesting and gives the readers some questions to think about. Despite being written over 50 years ago it is easy to relate to the characters struggles. A great read for a rainy day or even better by the waterside!

I adooooore Hercule Poirot!!!! He is definitely the book character that I love most. He is a super genius! I was surprised when I discovered the killers, although I felt very sorry for one of them at the beginning because... when you read the book you will know  I won't spoil anything for you guys, so you read the book and experience that beautiful suspense. I give this book 9/10 and I'm going to tell you something... reading Agatha Christie's books is a kind of magic. When you read one, you will want to read all of her books.

This is a very quick read; I never would have guessed who did it! The crime takes place while Hercule Poirot is supposed to be on vacation; and involves both the current murder and one from the past. I liked the interviews both local law enforcement and Poirot conduct with the suspects. It is rather devious the way Poirot sets up a test and tumbles to the truth; although I think he took a bit of a risk this time! Agatha Christie does it again!

Weak, preposterous ending. Slowly paced with a lot of dialogue.
