If you are looking for a book that helps explain anger management strategies in a fun and engaging children's book style, then this is *not* the book for you. I can't say how disappointed I am with the book, and I'm ashamed that I read it to my son without reading it first to myself. I'm glad I only borrowed it form the library, and didn't buy it! The whole book is a bunch of examples of things you do not want your kid to do when they are mad, like slamming doors, throwing toys, and hurting the family pet. There is a super short sentence at the end that says: count to ten and take deep breaths, but the other 99% is just bad ideas for pre-schoolers. The artwork is gorgeous and the characters are multi-cultural, but that's the most the book had going for it. I also borrowed How do Dinosaurs Learn to Read, which has equal number of awful ideas for your kid's book collection. I'll be staying away from this whole series.

This oversized picture book offers a fun, rhyming way to talk about emotions with toddlers and preschoolers, especially those prone to big tantrums! Dealing with feelings isn't easy, but this book demonstrates how to calm down, clean up, and say you're sorry (or maybe just skip the silly meltdown in the first place!). And if you like this book, try the rest of the series for manners while eating, getting ready for bed, or going to the doctor.

Do you know what dinosaurs do when they’re mad? In this title from Jane Yolen’s extremely popular picture book series, children can see how dinosaurs act when they’re angry and what they should do to control their tempers. Ages 0-6.

This is a good book for beginning readers to follow along with and for young children learning to deal with their emotions.
