Add a CommentNew York explores post-9/11 complexities in a nuanced and gripping way, exposing the underbelly of actions undertaken in the name of security and giving a face to those who suffered unjustly. This is proof that "Bollywood" has more to offer than fun movies with song and dance.
This is a very good movie, with a lot of depth. I really liked how it dealt with the fallout of the 9/11 terrorist attack. It dealt with some of the excesses of the US gov't that arrested many innocent Asian people, imprisoned withour a trial, and dehumanized them through humiliation and torture. Incredibly tragic and a horrible thing to do! This act had created the unintended effect and consequences. I felt the movie was very balanced and honest in its view. Very commendable! There are also plenty of light moments, some romance, and music, etc. also. I highly recommend this movie!
