Still relevant today as an example of the myth of the noble old South marches on. Foote is fun to listen to in a grandpa sort of way spinning his Faulkneresque yarns about the old grey ghosts fighting for their states. Heck of a writer he was, but not much of a historian. Yet he is the centerpiece for the southern view of the war! Video doc is nothing more than a sliver into history, but unfortunately for many it is ‘the history’.
