This is an Alfred Hitchcock film starring Cary Grant. A woman jewel thief impersonates and tries to blame another. A good scenic film with good architecture and good acting. Good costumes in one scene.

Social realism set in the dingy, depressing poverty of the French Riviera, where ill-clothed thousands huddle for shelter under umbrellas on the beach. Whereas Hitchcock’s previous ‘Dial M for Murder’ was filmed for 3-D (which was…

1953. A fun romantic mystery adventure romp set in the So. of France by A. Hitchcock. Kelly is beautiful. Lavish sets & costumes.

This movie was very entertaining and fun. To Catch a Thief might not have been as innovative as some of Hitchcock’s other films, but I still found it to be thoroughly enjoyable. What I loved most about this movie was that it wasn’t slow…

The_Most_Casual_Observer, Thanks for the correction... Not the first time I got the two handsome guys mixed up: Cary Grant: 1904-1986, 6′ 2″ Gary Cooper: 1901-1961, 6′ 3″ A film overfilled with attractions: Grace Kelly, Gary Cooper,…

1955's "To Catch A Thief" is an Alfred Hitchcock production that stars 2 of Hollywood's most bankable actors of their generation, Grace Kelly and Cary Grant. Set in the French Riviera - "To Catch A Thief's" story centers around the…

Directed by Alfred Hitchcock in 1955 based on the 1952 novel of the same name by David Dodge, this American romantic thriller depicts the struggle and romance of a retired burglar. Although the story seems ill-contrived, the film appears…

An enjoyable film that seesaws in its excitements from beginning to end; it also ends with a neat and complete ending (a confession by the real perpetrator) like other Hitchcock films. The main character, Robie, and the mother and daughter…

Every time I see a Cary Grant movie, I like him more. He and Grace Kelly were great in "Thief". However the thing I loved most about this movie was the breathtaking scenery. Just stunning and it only enhanced the movie's qualities. Great…

Jewel thieves, car chases, and climbing on rooftops are all here in “To Catch a Thief,” a cleverly written tale starring Cary Grant and Grace Kelly. This is a spectacular mystery that will intrigue all who watch it!

Following the huge box-office success of his Technicolor crime/thriller "Rear Window" - British film director, Alfred Hitchcock returned in full-force with 1955's "To Catch A Thief" (TCAT, for short). Starring 2 of Hollywood's most…

My god, was Grace Kelly beautiful! And the scenes of the Riviera shot from a helicopter are stunning.

"To Catch a Thief", 1955, Hitchcocks pairs Cary Grant with Grace Kelly. (Grant did 4 films for the ovate Hitchcock and Kelly did 3.) Retired jewel thief John Robie seeks to salvage his reputation as a gone-straight former thief by…

Cary Grant's disturbingly leathery tan is the only thing to mar this otherwise sumptuous piece of eye candy from Alfred Hitchcock. It's not Hitch's greatest by a longshot, but Grace Kelly and Grant are fun to watch, and the sweeping…

Alfred Hitchcock directed many movies, among them Rear Window, Rebecca, Notorious, and Shadow of a Doubt, but the Hitchcock film that I watch over and over is To Catch a Thief. Yes, it is corny, and yes, in some places even trite, but the…

This was definitely a charming film. Hitchcock's follow-up to his highly successful prior pieces, "Rear Window", and "Dial M for Murder". I am, unfortunately, unlike most on this page, more prone to prefer those two over this one. A big…

One of my favourite Hitchcock films. Cary Grant is suave and charming as the former thief trying to uncover who's behind a series of thefts, Grace Kelly is radiant, and the supporting cast is ideal. The chemistry between the leads is…
